Description:
The charge for this project was to give new life
to a well-used library without expanding. The L-
shaped building completes the enclosure of a large reading garden that is
a very special outdoor space. We turned to the
reading garden for inspiration for this design. The carpet design is a
path in a field of flowers that connects to the two garden entrances.
Cloud ceiling forms and natural forms in the cabinetry reinforce the
connection to the garden.
